6 Small Acts of Kindness You Can Do Every Day

A wonderful transition is happening in the world. The kindness movement is gaining momentum. More and more people are becoming dedicated to making the world a better place, and it’s a beautiful sight to see.

The only downside, if you can even call it that, is that a lot of us have lofty goals when it comes making the planet a nicer place. There’s nothing wrong with that. I fit into that category myself.

I’ve always dreamed of traveling to volunteer with children around the world or starting my own business that uses 100% recycled materials. Those are great goals, and I’m definitely going to go after them, but the reality is that will take a decent amount of time to make it happen.

It’s great to have ambitious dreams for how you can impact the world, but when it comes to doing nice things, sometimes it’s good to start small so you can start making a difference right away. Here are some simple ways to start spreading good vibes on a daily basis.

Smile at others

This one seems simple enough, but it’s something a lot of people fail to do. We get so distracted by our phones, jobs, and everyday life that we forget to stop and connect with another person. A friendly smile tells others that you are honest, trustworthy, and welcoming. If everyone smiled a little more, the world would truly be a kinder place!

Pay someone a compliment

One of the greatest gifts you can give to someone is a genuine compliment. I like to do this regularly. Basically, if I like someone’s outfit, nails, or even just their vibe, I let them know. It’s a wonderful feeling to witness the effect a compliment can have on a person, and it’s sure to put a smile on your face.

Mind your manners

There’s a reason why we teach kids to say please and thank you, right? We can all agree that it’s polite and respectful to have manners, but it can really make a difference in how someone interacts with you. It’s a sign of acknowledgment that so many people just skip over. So be the diamond in the rough and start using basic manners. Watch the difference it will make.

Sharing is caring

If you have a little extra, why not share? It feels good when you can let others enjoy your abundance or vice versa. It doesn’t have to be extravagant either. A small gesture is all it takes.

A great example of this comes from a former co-worker of mine. She used to bring treats to the office every day. Sometimes it would be little candy bars, popcorn, and even turkey jerky. The point is that she brought enough to share. Soon, everyone on the team was bringing little treats for the team. This helped boost morale and build a sense of camaraderie.

Lend a helping hand

If you see a co-worker with too much on their plate or an elderly person who needs help with a heavy load, help them out. It might seem insignificant, but this kind deed will definitely be appreciated. Maybe they’ll decline your offer, but it still shows that you are considerate and caring. In the end, the fact that you just offered will mean a lot.

Tell others why you love them!

Whether it’s your friend, family member, or spouse, you should always let your loved ones know how much you value them. Life is too short to leave things unsaid. If you love spending time with someone or enjoy a friend always being there for you, let them know. Even though it might seem like certain people will just know how you feel it will still feel good for both of you to just say, “I love you.

Hopefully, you see now that some of the biggest acts of kindness are the smallest ones. Participating in these activities every day will set you up for success when you’re ready to tackle the bigger goals in the world of kindness. These will not only make others feel good, but they will make you want to keep on living life with a passion for love and togetherness.
