Kindness at Amusement Parks

Recently, I have spent a lot of time at amusement parks. They are exciting and supposed to be some of the happiest places in the world. Families and friends of all kinds come together at these tourist destinations to have the vacation of a lifetime.

However, theme parks can be crowded, busy, and outright exhausting. As the day goes on, more and more people grow irritated and angry. I see it over and over again. People sometimes think they can be disrespectful or rude just because their trip isn’t turning out exactly as they wanted. Sure, vacations can be frustrating, but it is no reason to turn on each other and stop spreading kindness. Therefore, there are lots of things to consider when spending the day at such a busy tourist attraction.

Be Patient

Of course, lines take forever at any amusement park. It is just a part of the trip that you have to go through. However, it can be easy to grow impatient when waiting in these lines. They can end up being longer than expected and can end up stressing you out. However, even if you are growing impatient waiting in line, don’t take your irritation out on others. If people see that you’re annoyed, then this could cause them to get frustrated too. Therefore, when waiting for lines, try your best to remain calm and remember that you will get on the ride eventually. Most experiences can’t even happen without the waiting, so be patient. The park is trying its best to get the line moving as quickly as possible, so there’s no need to stress.

Engage with Others

Even if the waiting is boring, you can still try to make it exciting. There a lot of people around you going through the exact same experience. If you’re bored, then they likely are too. Don’t be afraid to talk to those around you while waiting to get on rides. Fun conversations can make the lines go by much faster. Not only would these interactions help cure your boredom, but they could also lift the spirits of those around you. It may seem like a small act of kindness, but engaging with others can go a long way. You could meet so many different people this way and have great conversations. Just remember that not every person will be willing to talk to you, but it can’t hurt to at least try because it could make the entire amusement park experience better for both of you.

Be Respectful of Employees

When things don’t go how you expect at an amusement park, some people immediately try to blame the employees. This is an important habit to avoid. Employees are just trying to make the process go as quickly and as smoothly as possible. They want to have a good day just like you and are definitely not going out of their way to ruin your vacation. Therefore, be respectful and thankful for the work that they do. It is their job to make sure the amusement park runs and functions properly each and every day. If it weren’t for the employees, you would not be able to even have a trip to the amusement park. Therefore, it is important to be kind to all employees during your trip. Engage with them as well. Their jobs may get repetitive and boring after a while, so it can’t hurt to just to lift their spirits too.

Make the Most out of it

This should go without saying, but always make the most out of your amusement park experience. Even if things don’t go as planned, just remember that you are lucky to get to go on such an exciting trip. While waiting in line, you can be planning what rides to head to next or playing games in line to pass the time. The day doesn’t have to drag on and on. You don’t have to be rude or irritable to those around you. An amusement park is supposed to be an exciting place, so make the most of it. Don’t let your impatience bring you down and definitely don’t bring down those around you. Be kind to everyone, especially at a busy vacation spot. It can help to make everyone’s trips go much more smoothly and make everyone around you much happier at the end of the day.
